Sustainability and social issues

What exactly does sustainability mean for Übungsmedikamente.de?

In our company, we have been dealing with this topic since the very beginning. Since we are of the opinion that raw materials can be used several times and some things can be reused in the entire workflow. Regional proximity of suppliers, which keeps distances short, not only in terms of ecological consideration of distances, but also in terms of dialogue and personal closeness among business partners.

Another point of sustainability you have surely noticed for a long time: in our packaging and shipping boxes, you will always find foil or already used filling materials. This is another point where we try to give materials a second life in the economic cycle, so to speak.

You will have noticed that our product packaging has changed again and again in recent years. Here, too, the motivation was to incorporate sustainability through short transport routes of the product packaging, material savings in the area of padding during shipping and stability of the individual packaging.

The constant growth of our company, the increase in our product variety as well as our own demand to do more and more justice to our own ideas and requirements has now also motivated us to take a closer look at the topic of inclusion. After some internal discussions in our company and inspired by a good friend who works in this field, we got in touch with different workshops for disabled people to find out in which areas a possible cooperation could arise. After only a few weeks, it became clear that we would be able to place the packaging of our vomiting ampoules completely in the hands of a facility where people with disabilities could find a place in everyday working life.

Since June 2023, we have been working with Regens Wagner Dillingen, specifically at the Gundelfingen site, to have all of our emetic ampoules packaged there for the end customer.

The Regens-Wagner workshops in Dillingen are a recognised workshop for disabled people (WfbM) according to § 225 SGB IX. Currently, 230 people with disabilities are employed in the workshops within the framework of integration assistance. The WfbM is also a designated specialist workshop for people with hearing impairments. The workshops are part of Regens Wagner Dillingen, one of 13 regional centres of the Regens-Wagner-Werk in Bavaria. At Regens-Wagner-Werk, people with different disabilities have been supported, accompanied and cared for for 176 years. We are sure that we have found a partner here with 175 years of experience in supporting people with disabilities and that our decision will contribute to providing the employees there with a daily structure, remuneration, recognition for their performance and a sense of achievement.
